Connect, Discover, Sense
The village of your heart

Myoko is a place where you can find your inner peace. MAHORA Nishinoya is a unique accommodation facility
that offers independent lodging experiences. It has been reconstructed from a traditional snow country house
with a 120-year history. At MAHORA, you can relax, play freely, and find your peace. You will have the opportunity to explore the rich local culture and history and immerse yourself in a special mountain village experience by interacting with the locals. Come and experience Myoko, where the essence of people resides.

Room

MAHORA is designed to illuminate the uniqueness of the Japanese village and the essence of Myoko. We retained the original structure and traditional construction methods of the old house, and discuss the renovation process with our community and various professionals. The interior retains the Japanese layout, and the air is filled with the rich aroma of tatami mats. Natural light warmly penetrates the interior, old earthen walls blend with new materials, and each room showcases the unique mix of traditional and modernJapanese architecture. We furnished the space with furniture, lighting, utensils, etc. that match the atmosphere of the old house. Here, you are surrounded by the scent of earth and wood, to relax your mind, body and soul.

We Recommend taking public transportation. You can take the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Joetsu-Myoko Station, then transfer to a taxi (fare approximately 8,000 yen), or choose to rent a car and drive yourself. Due to snow and ice conditions during winter (December to March), it is not recommended for individuals lacking experience driving in snowy areas to rent a car. If you insist on renting a car, please ensure the vehicle is equipped with winter gear, including snow tires and four-wheel drive, before setting off. If departing from Nagano Station, you can take the Shinano Railway to Myoko-Kogen Station, then transfer to the Echigo-Tsumari Railway to Arai Station, and finally take a taxi (fare approximately 5,000 yen).
